Distribution:

from Nova Scotia (Canada) and Maine (USA) south to Florida and Texas and from there, further south into Mexico. 

Wingspan:

In between 4,5 and 6,5 centimeter

Season:

depends on the local conditions, at least two brood annually, but in the warmer parts and in captivity 3 or more

Food plants:

Vitis, Parthenocissus

Rearing:

Easy and suitable for newcomers. Keep warm and clean, in well ventilated plastic containers or in netted cages. Fast growing and ready to pupate within 4 weeks. The pupal stage is short (2 to 3 weeks). The warmer the faster they develop. Pupae after the last flight in autumn can be overwintered in the fridge.
