Distribution:

southern Mexico (Chiapas, Veracruz and Oaxaca) and Belize

Wingspan:

In between 7 and 10 cm

Season:

one flight from May to September. Pupae overwinter.

Food plants:

Carpinus, Corylus, Betula, Alnus, Quercus, Salix

Rearing:

Not difficult as long as they are kept dry. Keep at room temperature or warmer, in well ventilated plastic containers. Slow growing, pupating after 7 to 8 weeks. The pupae overwinter in an unheated (frost free) room. Not in the fridge.
