approximately 7 to 9 cm
more or less continuously in captivity when kept warm
Salix caprea, Salix cinerea.
Fairly easy on Salix. Keep in well ventilated plastic containers and move to a netted cage when the caterpillars become older. Watch out for condensation and do not give wet leaves. Fast growing. It takes around five weeks before they start pupating . A living room temperature is enough. The pupal stage is only a couple of weeks. Try not to overwinter, just let the adults emerge.
