Food plants:

not as polyphage as B. alcinoe. Can be reared on Mahonia aquifolium (best) and Ligustrum ovalifolium

Rearing:

Difficult, not suitable for newcomers. Keep warm (25°C during the day or warmer), clean and dry. Rear in spacious, well ventilated plastic containers but try to avoid condensation. Ready to pupate in approximately 6 weeks (depending on temperature and quality of the food). Pupal stage is variable (from 4 weeks to several months). Warmer and more humid conditions trigger the moths to emerge.
