Madagascar and the Comoros (as subspecies comorana)

Wingspan:

In between 11 and 13 cm

Season:

in captivity more or less continuously

Food plants:

Ligustrum, Crataegus, Salix, Rhus, Schinus, Nerium, Liquidambar and many more

Rearing:

A very easy species, suitable for newcomers. 100% idiot proof. Keep warm (minimum room temperature) and clean. Rear in spacious, well ventilated plastic containers or netted cages (it doesn't matter much as long as you avoid condensation). Requires large amounts of food. Fast growing. Ready to pupate in 4 to 5 weeks (depending on temperature and quality of the food). Caterpillars are variable in color. Pupal stage is approximately 4 weeks.
