2 flights annually (May/June and July/August), in captivity when reared warm sometimes a 3rd flight. Pupae overwinter.
An easy species, suitable for newcomers. Keep warm and clean, in well ventilated plastic containers (just watch out for condensation). Fast growing and ready to pupate within 4 to 5 weeks. The pupal stage in between flights is short (approximately 2 to 3 weeks). The warmer the faster they develop. Cocoons after the last flight in autumn can overwinter in the fridge.
