Pinus, including Pinus sylvestris
A fairly easy species when kept dry and warm. Caterpillars are relatively fast growing and pupate within 2 months at room temperature. Early stages can stay in well ventilated plastic containers, but the caterpillars need to be moved to netted cages once they are large enough. Tolerate company very well, even in the final instar.
