The clearwing or bee hawk moths are small species occurring in the Holarctic Region.  The 22 species are mainly day active. Some species loose scales while flying resulting in a bee like appearance with partially transparant wings.

The level of difficulty depends on the species. Some can be easy and suitable for newcomers while others are significantly more difficult. All feed on a limited range of food plants, so check carefully whether you have the required food or not.
