Dirphia

The Dirphia occur in Central and South America. It is a large genus with approximately 96 species. Their number has quickly gone up in recent years due to the split of especially Dirphia avia into quite many 'new' species. Several of them look similar and a correct identification can sometimes be difficult.

Many species are easy to rear. However, the eggs are often rather delicate and don't travel well.
