Distribution:

widespread throughout the warmer parts of Asia; from India through Nepal and southern China to Laos and Vietnam. Southwards, they occur throughout Thailand and Malaysia, down to Indonesia. 

Wingspan:

in between 12 and 14 cm

Season:

continuously

Food plants:

Liquidambar and Eucalyptus preferred, also Rhus, Crataegus and Castanea

Rearing:

An easy species, suitable for newcomers. Keep warm and clean, in well ventilated plastic containers (just watch out for condensation).  Relatively fast growing and ready to pupate within  5 to 6 weeks. The pupal stage in between flights is short (approximately 2 to 3  weeks). The warmer the faster they develop. 

Difficulties:

does not diapause, winter rearing can be more complicated
